Filmmaking 101 Self Paced (Grades 5-8: 4 Weeks)
Instructor: Telesco
Grades: 5-8
Length: Self Paced 4 Weeks
In this self-paced course, students will learn the importance of five key elements to creating quality videos, whether for personal/social use, or academic projects.
Purpose & Planning
Pacing
Shooting Video
Editing
Sound
With the abundance of mobile apps for video editing, most students think they are quite capable videographers. But filmmaking is much more than just point-and-shoot, and students can always improve their skills.
In this course, students will focus closely on each of these five keys, step by step, while working toward an independent short video project of their choice. Students can use any program for shooting and editing film; suggestions will be provided that include free apps and programs, as well as reliable, copyright-free sources for music and sound effects online–creative commons licensed (no attribution required for most), and are free of pesky downloads or spam.
